Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

I have been experimenting with shells with a tru-glo tube. Not having the best luck but I blame it on the tube.

Hey Partner,
I have the same choke and gun...mine shot terrible until I took the advice of a friend who is a pro turkey hunter..He told me to buy the Gobble Dot sites..They were 50.00 from Cabelas..just took 2 shells to site in..
WOW!!!! same gun ..same shells and same choke..I went from 20 pellets in the kill zone to about 200..My best shells I found for my 870 were Walmart's Remington Nitro 3 inch magnum #4 shot..9.00 a box of 10. When my wife hooks up my scanner I'll post my target..

My 870 Super Mag patterns great out to 50 yards. I use a Primos Tightwad choke, and Fiochii 3.5" 6 shot. They pack a wallop with 2 3/8 oz of shot, and kick like a mule, but they are deadly!

I patterned my 870 a couple of weeks ago with 3 inch, Federals with the Flight Control Wad, Winchester Supreme Double X, and Remington Premier Magnums, all in 5 shot. I was also using the Tight Wadchoke in .660 constriction. The results were pretty similar, but it seemed to like the Winchesters a little better than the other 2. I got a consistent 60-70 pellets in a 10 inch circle at 40, but more importantly 15-25 in the head and neck at that range.

I would be comfortable shooting out to 45 yards with any of those shells, but especially the Winchesters.
