Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Ya he's probably a two year old. Things can happen to a beard, a snow and part of the beard forze and then got broken off, a sickness a bird has, or maybe genetics. Anyway nice kill. My dad killed a mellanistic "super" jake last year and the two feathers on the tips of the fan showed he was a jake. But who cares all I know is WILD turkey is the food for my soul!

You cant always go by the tail feathers to tell if it is a jake or not. This might still be a "jake" but he was an early hatchling and his feathers grew in. Check and see what his spurs are, if they are more than nubs, then it is a longbeard.

Congrats on the bird!
