Any turkey biologist out there?

RE: Any turkey biologist out there?
Ken, I' m no expert here by any means, but I could swear that I read somewhere between 12-15 eggs, or something close. A hen will lay an egg a day untill her clutch is done. Then afterwards she sits the nest!! One less hen to fool with!!

Concur...a hen lays a clutch of between 12-15 eggs. Survival rate in your area may differ due to weather, predation, and insect availability (a poult' s primary source of food in their early life). The less insects are available, the more the poults and hens have to " wander." This leaves them open to predators. In Washington state, our survival rate is about 50-60 percent. You asked this question at a good time because I just had this conversation with a turkey biologist today. He really filled me in on poults.
