I will start turkey hunting this spring. I have my call and am practicing I have decided to skip the cost of chokes and shell testing and use my bow. My one question is I use the G5 montec head for deer hunting and was wondering if this head would work for turkey hunting and also is there anything I need to do so that I do not get a pass through or do I want to get a pass through. If anyone has suggestions for heads that would be able to be used for turkey/deer hunting I may look at changing. I don't want to switch to gobbler guiletine heads because that would require me to change heads multiple times throughout the year.

that head and IMO any other head will work just fine. if you use it for other big game it will work great for turkeys. pass throughs are not necessary, but if it does that is good.
read up or search for turkey vitals, i thought i had the web site but i don't....look at where the vitals are and you should be good to go

Your broadhead will work just fine for turkeys. Personally, I have never worried one way or the other about pass thru's. All of the turkeys that I have killed have been taken with the same setup I use for deer, bear, and hog.

By putting adder points behind your BH, you increase the chance of your BH staying in the bird. Thus when the bird runs (if you don't drop it in place) the BH is still doing alot of damage inside. Your montec will work just fine.

Anything that has a cutting edge on it will work just fine for turkey. I use montec G5 broadheads for deer and turkey but you just have to remember you r shooting something with a much smaller cutting diameter thanexpandables so your shots need to be precise. Aim small, Miss small is what i've always been taught. Good luck this spring.
