Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default KS Walk In Areas for turkey?

How can I figure out where in KS would be the best bets for doing a DIY turkey hunt?

I want a pure bred rio.

This would be a father/son hunt.

Thanks for any help...

I am afraid I cannot give you any direct information, but seeing as how you have not had a response yet....I would contact one or both of the following people.

Philip Rockers
(573) 353-9428
[email protected]

Ellen Benitz
(816) 387-6606
[email protected]

They both are the heads of a couple of different NWTF chapters in KS.
Here is the link from the NWTF for their info

Good luck.

Here is the general distribution of the turkey population here.

Here is a link to the walk in ground around the state.

I would look into the areas around the various lakes throughout the state, there isn't much for walk-in during the spring that holds turkeys but I do real well in eastern kansas hunting public land around a couple of the different lakes close by. Your best bet to find a rio would be in the western part of unit two or any of unit three be careful though if you get to far west the turkeys can be few and far between.
