Yeah it is snowing here in York. This is ridiculous. This past weekend I was in fulton County Just outside of McConnellsburg. I saw three birds, 22 deer, and 2 grouse so all in all it was a good day. I didnt hear any gobbling but the fog and haze didnt lift until 2:00 so i wasnt able to call early in the morning i just worked on our cabin instead. Anyone know anything about the McConnellsburg area?

A couple of good things about snow while turkey hunting..... 5. Gobblers stick out like a sore thumb. 4. Makes scouting and tracking turkey movements very easy. 3. Ability to track turkeys. 2. Makes it easily to cool your bird down once you' ve shot it.

1. Hunting turkeys is fun no matter what' s on the ground!

Seriously. Unless there' s a blizzard. Turkeys will keep doing what turkeys do in the spring. I' ve shot a few shortly after a blizzard.

last year it was nice down here..we wake up..nice calm no rain no wind...we get above I-80 and its like a total diffrent weather system from below it all the time...we get past on it and see water on the windshield...o well to late to turn around a little rain wont kill us...we get out and gear up..its windy as can be..30mph gusts and SNOWING!..last year it rained almost every day in the season or was horribly windy..i hunted 4 or 5 days compared to my normal 10 or more....it was horrible..lets hope this is the last of the cold so we can get out and hunt with nice weather! i was deer hunting once and it was snowing in december..we hear a hen yelping and a gobbler behind her gobbling like it was spring...you wouldnt believe it..snow is hard to say..they will still be out...the got to eat....good luck..im kinda glad i got 18 days or so until season..its probally not even 40 out and windy and raining...but for the next week or so its going to be about 50 or more and sunny! hope it stays...good luck

Hey Borch,
Thanks for the good news. Here in Mid NH we have more snow falling as I write.
Had 10 " Fri- Sat and now 2-3" more. My hunting areas have 2-15 " . We drove around last evening and the only turks we saw were in back yards near feeders.

There is 23 days till the VT. opener, 26 for NH. A lot can change in that timeframe. Maybe we wil get another big snowstorm , we don' t care cause we' re goin' turkey hunting !

Just remember last years weather. Beautiful winter but come the end of April it got cold and either snowed or rained for 2 weeks. I`ll put up with this weather and just keep telling myself that when it does warm-up it is going to be a prefect spring.
