I just found out today that the 1 week either sex season was approved for 2004 in 9 NC counties. I was just wondering how some of you with fall/winter seasons in effect in other states feel about this hunting season. I have to believe that NC is not ready and 1 good winter harvest coupled with 1 poor hatch could ruin some years of restoration. Please give some feedback!

I dont know about other states but i believe the hens are getting just a little bit out of hand here in nc. From what i saw during the deer season there are 20-25 hens for every gobbler. I think it should be a 1 hen only season because it would be almost to easy to shoot a gobbler off a food plot if they come as close as they did to my deer stand several times. I think they should go ahead with this season and see how it affects the population.
