i was just wandering how far must of us travel to get to your hunting spot. i mean in one day (none of this spending the nite stuff). the only property i could come by where i live is right at an hour away but it is the deer and turkey " honey hole" so i guess it is worth it. just wandering if most people get up early and leave real early to get there before dawn or if most have a close by spot?

[>:]I think hunting the east coast is a different creature than hunting in the western states... A lot of people do travel and camp at their spots - I know I do - 8 hour drive. When I hunted VA - 45 minute drive was all that was required. If I were going on just a day hunt... I' d try to find something w/in 2 to three hours of drive time... Hopefully no one with radar guns will be along my route[&:]

I have national forest within 5 miles of my house but it takes me about 40 minutes to get to the good spots. Farthest (private land) 1 hour, .
Ive been scouting some spots within 15-20 minutes to hunt this year.

Depending on the weather (snow) it takes me about 1-1/2 - 2 hours to get to the nearest spot. My regular area is about 5 hours away. Both areas are National forest, with the closest having some WMA land.
