Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

What time of the season does everyone find that the hunting seems just a little better to you ? I like the Mid. to the end of the season in Ontario , seems the hunting presure is a lot less and the Longbeards are on the move looking for that lonely reseptive hen , that I like to be . Whats your opinion on this topic ?...BT

BT, I agree with you 100%!!! Those hot 2 year olds seem to be the biggest part of the opener. But like you have already mentioned, the Mid - end of the season works very well for me as well. That's when the older boys want to play!! The woods aren't as crowded is another good point!! I have taken quite a few toms during the last three days of the season here in New York.

i gota agree....we hunt usually the first day or 2...then take the 3rd week off work/skool...the birds seem to be alot hotter and you have no worrys about other hunters coz by then the are given up or killed one...

I also have to agree on Midseason. It really helps when the hens start to nest. Also less competition from others hunters.

I have to say mid to late season is the most productive for me,but the early season can be great also. The thing that I like about the early season is you still have two or more gobblers traveling together.

Im also in agreement with you BT.Ive had my best birds, and best success in the middle to the end of the season, after the hen's have begun nesting.Toned down calling and patience with a capital P seems to work for me.

Some years I had better luck early on, and others, later in the season. So I guess I would have to say all season.
