Our chapter just bought 1000lbs. of corn, and over a ton of oats and we are distributing it to everyoone that is feedin the birds. Hey have a great time this weekend!

This time of season always gets me excited to go out and start looking for birds or deer or whatever. After being cooped up all winter it sure is nice to go out in the spring.

Foo, I was out to the camp last friday to meet up with a logger with my dad. The snow was up to the top of my knees!! After busting through about 60-70 yards, that was it for me!! Snowshoes must be the way to go here, but if your still busting through with them as well, then I' m waiting till the snow melts down to about 4" !! LOL!!!

Foofighter,
I have it bad. We had two - three feet of snow in the woods. The recent thaw and rain to deep freeze ( again) has hardend up the snowpack. It should be damn good snowshoing now and i' m headed out this afternoon.

I have the fever bad.

Since we dont get snow down here in Florida, i' ll be trudging through two feet of water. Its so wet down here that the gobblers are chasing the wood ducks.[&:]
Its supposed to rain all weekend through monday too.

A little early for me. I like to start about 3 weeks before the season. That way i know what i find in late march and early april will still be going on on opening day... To many times i have went out to early and scouted and when i went back in april the birds were gone...

I was right about the two - three feet of snow but the crust wasn' t thick enough in some places.! No turkey tracks, good workout ! That helps with my fever.
