Default Loads for Undertaker Choke

I was wondering what loads everyone was getting the best results from while using the Undertaker Choke Tube. I know it varries from gun to gun but from what i' ve seen for other posts so far that choke seems to like Winchester #5' s. I am going to be using the Undertaker on a Winchester 1300 Black Shadow 3" chamber with a 22" barrel. Let me know what your gun likes with the Undertaker tube

Tried a Undertaker with my Benelli last month... it' s back in the store.
Not only did the pattern deteriorate greatly after 35 PACES! When I unscrewed
it to take it out of my gun it jammed up. I gently walked it out of my gun to find
the tube with marks on it. The threads of my gun must of been rubbing on the
tube. Luckily the threads aren' t ruined in my Benelli. So my opinion of the
Undertaker is not good, be careful. Besides of possibly ruining my gun, the pattern
it put out was not as advertised.

I' ve got an Undertaker for my old style BPS. It has the same choke system as your 1300. It shoots nasty patterns at 40 yd. with Win. high vel. 3" #6' s or standard Win. 2 oz. #4' s. I can' t get my gun to shoot #5' s consistantly.

I' ve got an undertaker in one of my 1300 black shadows. Have used it in both guns with 26" barrels and have had identical results. It likes #6 shot. Whether it' s federal or Winchester, 2 3/4" or 3" , a heavey payload or the lighter HV loads. In my guns it shot #5 shot ok. But the set up really liked the #6 shot. Your results may vary.

No problem with the threads either. Homer J must have got a bad one. I' ve heard the same thing happening with other choke brands as well.

Good Luck!

I' ve got the undertaker in my 870 and it shoots as good as I can hold it. I use Remington Premier #5 3inch shells.

I have an Undertaker on my Rem 870 and it likes 3" Winchester High Velocity 13/4 ounce #5 best, with the same load in #6 a close second. I have tried all of the 3" Rem., Federal and Winchester loads in #5 and #6 that I could find, and these two seem to stand out. I think that my pattern testing cost me almost as much as the gun.
Curiously, the factory extra full choke liked #5 best also, but in Federal 2 oz. Actually, the patterns were almost as good as the Undertaker' s.
