ORIGINAL: Adrian J Hare

I just came up with another combo for yet another 20 gauge Remington Express. .555 Indian Creek and I'm getting in the mid 90's at 40 yards in the hot temps and high Humidity with Hevi 13 #6. I would think once the cool weather comes this gun is going to shoot 100 in that circle with no problem.

There is No turkey on this planet that will ever get out of the way of a load like this.
Hey BT, sounds like your making that 20really sing!! Keep us posted on your field work with that gun of yours.;)

Hey BT. What's the farthest shot you've ever killed a gobbler with those Hevi 13 loads??? And what was the fps/ shot sizes on that load???

I'm thinking about using the Hevi 13 loads next year. But am a little leary about there kinetic energy at 40 and beyond!!!

Adrain; sounds like you are getting a pretty good pattern with that 20ga. A little thing that I learned really improved patterns is polishing the barrel, never fails to improve patterns at least a little. Also as a general rule the higher temps and higher humidity will provide better patterns so you can expect patterns to decrease a little as it gets cooler. Good luck and have fun, those 20's are a lot of fun!

mr longbeard; I know you did not ask me, but you will have no problem with Hevi-13 #6's to 50 yards and a bit beyond if that is how far you want to shoot. Plenty of knockdown power if you have the pattern to back it up. I use #6's only and generally they shoot about 1020-1100fps.
The farthest I have killed one is 62 yards (12ga Hevi-13 3" #6's).
