I saw a TV show awhile back that said turkeys can only gobble about once every minute due to some sort of chemical in their brain. They try to gobble more often at times but no sound comes out do to the chemical. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Sounds like a crock to me. I have one on video last year gobble 7 times in succession. The crows were driving him crazy. He probably gobbled 15 times during that particularminute. I've got all the proof on video. I'll go back and look at the video and see how many times he gobbled in that minute.

That is another reason one just can't not take as a fact what is passed on by the "Experts" on TV, videos etc.
Who hasn't heard of a "Double gobble?" Perhaps the issue is in the brain of the "Expert" making that remark.
I believe there are many on this forum which have more turkey knowledge, experience and success that most of the "Experts" on film which are trying to sell you a "New Improved" product year after year.
To be an expert one must be a Pro at some other vocation, sport, paid some else to do the scouting, calling or make at least one film and it doesn't have to be a successful hunt. Anyway how do those guys/gal's make all those movements while the gobblers are within range...won't work on the gobblers I hunt....
One thing that troubles he a lot is to watch the feathers fly after the shot...why can't some of these "Experts" hit them in the head? Don't they eat their turkeys or can they just afford a better dentist than I can????
I personally don't trust what goes on off film. If there is money to be made believe it or not there are those who will cheat and/or pass on bad information
and call themselves experts.......as reported here.....
