I'll start by saying I took this bird with a scatter gun, but I spend all my time in this forum. Went out this morning and roosted this bird, but as soon as he hit the ground he shut up. We had a hen come into our set all riled(sp?) up, but no beards. We got the dekes up and started towards a pasture and my friend Travis hit the call once and a gobbler sounded off not 60 yards beside us. We circled around and set minus the dekes and once the calling started he came a running. This is my first turkey and the second time I've even seen a turkey in the wild so you can imagine my excitement. The gobbles sounded like thunder as he topped the ridge looking for his mate. He came down a hill in front of me and crossed a creek, then went into full strut. I let him strut for a second and he stuck his head out to gobble and I pulled the trigger. Shot him at 33 paces with a Remington 870, he flopped around back into the creek. I wasn't sure how long the beard was when I first seen him, heck I didn't care. Well, wet it measured 10 1/2 inches with spurs a little over an inch long. Here are some pictures, needless to say I'M HOOKED

Thanks Frank, Andy, and JFerg. This was the third bird killed off this property in the last week, mine was the second largest. The largest was just shy of 11 1/4" beard.
I'm a firm believer in UltimateCamo, I had a hen all but run over me to get to the decoys first thing this morning. I had to turn 45 degrees with this bird in full strut looking right at me to get a shot and he never knew I was there. No blind, no cover just me leaning on a tree. Thanks Andy for a Ulitmate product.
