Default mossb. 500 choke? & lil deuce?

hey boys good to be here. i have been reading your messages for a long time but just joined myself today. i am also new to turkey huntin this year. being newly married and in Bible college i am working with a very limited budget (like 30 bucks). so i am trying to start out cheap and all i may get this year is experience but that will be more than i am starting with. anyway i was wondering if anyone has ever had any luck with a H.S. Strut lil deuce slate over glass call? i heard that it was a " good" " cheap" call. secondly i have a mossberg 500 with a full choke and i was wondering if yall think that will be enough (at 25 yards i have any where from 3 to 12 pellets in the area of his head) i don' t really have the $20 bucks to buy a new choke (sad huh) so i was wondering if any of you seasoned beard getters have a used one to sell cheap or will i be ok with what i got? thanks for any input at all

I have the same gun and use a 20 dollar choke(undertaker by h.s. strut0 Try shooting winchester #6 shot or federal #4 shot..They shoot well out of my gun. Might not yours so give it a try.as for calls the lil duce is good.Ive had luck with knight and hale old yeller.

Click,
Hello and welcome to the board. I have been using the H.S. Strut little deuce for quiet awhile. I actually have two, one glass and one slate. Both have called birds in and proably will again. I use my slate for tree talk. Like stated above you can find a pretty good choke for $20.00. The H.S. Strut undertaker and the Stardot are both good chokes for $19.99 at wally world.

if you keep your shots within 25yds you SHOULD kill the bird.....maybe try a diffrent shell in diffrent size and weight and maybe a copper plated shell or vice versa depending on what you have now...my dad has a lil deuce glass call...man that thing sings for him...i can barely get it to make a noise though because he uses some composite striker or something like that...i will second the old yeller..i think its maybe 15 bucks...i called in numerous turkeys with mine last year...welcome to the board....stick around....you can learn alot here theres alot of good duys and most of us are always willing to help....
