FIRST TURKEY IN NW OHIO w/ PIC
I just turned 18 couple months ago, so I couldn't youth hunt, but I was able to make it today. Only turkey hunted 2 other seasons. Got back in around 5:45 in morning, set up in a tree line facing north will grandpa on call and 3 hen decoys bout 20 yrds. out. We heard gobbles off and on, then at 7:10 heard a close one. He came out of the woods to our southwest and came across the field behind us to the tree line. He was then about 50 yrds. west of our postition on the backside of the line and started coming our way. Thats when my heart started racing. with about 10 yrds till he was right behind us, he saw the decoys, and cut through the tree line, ONLY 10 YRDS TO MY LEFT. I looked away for fear he would see my eyes, but he didn't notice me. Once out of the line, he made a bee line for the decoys. So when he was clear of trees, I pulled the trigger with him about 15-20yrds. going right and I was aiming towards the northwest and dropped the sucker!!! Thought my heart was gonna blow up!! What a rush. Thanks again to my grandpa for a great job of calling on his homemade box calls. He does sell them to people if they would like to purchase them. real quick, how do I post pics??
