Talk about the turkey gods being on your side. Just about a perfect morning except I didnt bring my bow or video camera because I was solo this morning. Roosted some birds last night. Got out of the truck this morning and birds were firing off in all directions. Called 2 gobblers in about 15 minutes after fly down. Let them strut around the decoys for aminute or 2 beforeI took this guy. I hadbothgobblers with 10 yards with no cover except the pine at my back, never saw me, gotta love the Ninja bark pattern [8D]

Nice Bird Congrats!!! Same thing happened to me yesterday. My cameraman couldn't go and I ended up shooting one that came in perfect all by himself strutting into the decoys. I had my tripod and camera with me but I didn't have time to set it up since he came running in so fast.

i just bought those same decoys, 10 bucks apiece at dicks. havnt had a chance to use em yet, season doesnt start until may 1.

They do work. We used them down in NC earlier this week and took a few brids as well.

Not to hijack the post, but since you are talking about decoys....Do any of you use strutting tom decoys of any kind? Seems like there are several that now make them. I usedone opening weekendwith some awesome results. Wondering if I just got into some really responsive birds or if that strutting tom (actually a jake) worked some magic?!?!
