Get up early, go set up a field somewhere and listen for a roosted bird.... or hens...

You have quite a luxury there 44. A whole week off before you hunt Saturday.
Like King said get out there and see what their up too.
Early, mid-day, and evening. I would love to have a week off before my opening day! Work seems to get in the way!

best advice is to go walking around or sit up against a tee where you think the birds are at and just look around without really getting the birds jumpy

Scout around trees and look for where they have been scratching at the ground.

Best advice in my opinion. Get on a high spot and listen and take some good binoculars. Also take a topo and a pencil and mark on the map were you hear one hollerin.

I'm sure you already know this, but scouting is no place to practice your calling. Don't educate the birds before you get a chance to hunt them.
