turkey season here in indiana starts in 24 days.the problem is,thats about the time food plots need to be planted. my buddy has 75 acres [1/3 open areas] and we are going to
put out 3-4 acres of plots [alfalfa/clover,corn,soybeans and sunflowers]. if it doesn't rain tomorrow i am spraying to kill grass and we will disk and plant by next weekend.there is still danger of frost but i don't think we should wait. that gives us 2 weeks for things to settle down. we should be done in one day[i hope !]
DO YOU THINK WE ARE DOING THE RIGHT THING ?

I've heard of farmers spreading manure in the fields in the winter and had turkeys comming out of the woods to feed on the manure as he was spreading it!!! Go for it!!
