I hunt in a club 10 miles west of Palatka. You are most definately hunting Osceolas primarily. But i do wonder if we have a bleedover of Easterns this far south of their "range".

Well, as far as the NWTF is concerned, any turkey found to the southof the "line" is considered an Osceola. I'd tend to agree with them. A turkey could be on the roost and be an Eastern, wake up and fly down over this line and suddenly become an Osceola. It's all about the geographic line when it comes to Osceolas.

That is the "Thing" about turkey hunting. Anything can happen in those walnut size brains and we spend years trying to figure out their logic????

ive never seen that with my Easterns. ive had dominant/older birds run off jakes...

i had a dominant/older bird strutting within range, enjoying the show waiting for it to be over so i could send lead his way...when i noticed another bird RUN through the field behind him, down the wood line and stand inches from me...it was a jake bird. eventually, tears rolled down my face trying not to blink as he stared into my eyes and after a minute or so i HAD to blink...needless to say i never got the shot at the big bird!!

another time i had a boss tom all by himself...one of the only mornings he didnt roost with a pile of hens...hit the ground and was strutting and gobbling like mad...awesome show. then i could hear a pile of blabber mouth jakes half gobbling their heads off and RUNNING towards me...that boss tom was between them and me...i watching him walk up the ridge and HEARD him lay a whoopin on them and watched them run off...he went back to puttin on his show...never got him close enough though...
