I did the very same thing last season. I decided to take the bow instead of the scatter gun and was rewarded with a great long beard. Im now hooked on it . I used a blind i had made of natural brush. Make sure you have enough room to shoot over it while seated. make sure you are far enough back from it so your arrow noes not make contact with it while your holding it. Important....make sure you have a good backdrop to blend into. I had used a pretty boy decoy and was able to draw when he was beating the snot out of it. as for where to shoot. if broad side aim for the wing joint, if frontal aim for where the beard is connected, if from the rear aim aim for the center of th back. good luck

thanks bloodcreek, Ill try to remember where to place the shot

*writes down on hand.... when rear aim center of back......*

I have been hooked on bows ever sense I looked in my first hunting magazine.
4 or 5 years ago we started ordering hunting magazines (dont remember which ones) and I saw a compound bow in there and I said, "Dad i want this for christmas" guess what, I got it, ever sense then i have been using it. This two christmases ago I got a new bow, I already grew out of my youth one.

Sense i have already taken my first deer with a bow i plan to take my first turkey with a bow. I am still working on that bear and coyote.

Where I am sitting I have plenty of branches around me that I could use to make a blind.
