Woods or Feild
I have a question. Do you guys hunt your birds mostly on the side of a feild or in the woods? If on the side of a feild do you use a blind or just sit against a tree and well hidden?

it depends on the area, and the type of day. for instance, if it is raining most times you will find the turkeys in the wide open away from the woods. in some areas they have more food under hardwoods where they can scratch leaves all day. if you have the chance to scout a little, that will tell you where you want to hunt. as it gets later in the season our gobblers like to stand onthe sunny side of hillsin the morning with no apparent reason for them being there except for the fact that they can see far and the hens can see them, they never use those hill except for in the spring.
using a blind is by preference, i prefer to use mine all the time just for fun and cause it helps a lot when using a bow. uneducated turkeys won't mind if your blind is in the middle of an open field or on the side of the woods.

In the Mornings and afternoons i hunt on the edge of a clover field and sit against a tree 10 feet in the woods, or else one of the spots has a groundblind, both work very good, but during the day from like 10 till 2 i hunt in the woods.
