As for the smart coment by kj... Most of my comments are towards you silver spoon turkey hunters... You know... The guy who hunts prime private land and kills unpressured turkeys and thinks he's really did something... My Grandmother always told me that the truth hurts;)
Hmm., silver spoon turkey hunters. Why don't all of us private land owners just go to the grocery store and buy our turkeys? We would save a lot of money, wouldn't we? Longbeard, I may just have to invite you over to my private land, I meanpetting zoo, and show you just how difficult it can be to take a silver spoon gobbler.;)BTW, I wouldn't call my property prime turkey land, but I do havetwoor three longbeards on my place each year that will give you fits.

I hunt only public land, I don't know anyone here to get permission to hunt the private land.... I've hunted both... and to tell ya the truth, I see no difference, so it may be completely related to your skill level dependant upon what areas you hunt..
I might also suggest that you scout your areas.

Test fired numerous loads today and a couple really shined throughmy Encore Pro Hunter with a Black Diamond Strike choke from Indian Creek.... wow, what a difference a custom choke and some Hevi-Shot can do!!! [:-]

Pattern on the left is from 40 yards using 3" 1 5/8 oz #6 Hevi-Shot, the pattern on the right is a more "typical" turkey load (Winchester XX #5's)

Nice pattern!
Ain't it amazing how far we've come from shooting fixed chokesand 100% lead shot,to shooting chokes that are custom made and shells that will do everything lead will do but 10 times better. These ain't our daddy's shotguns anymore!

I have heard several good things about the Indian Creek choke and the hevi-13 loads. They are producing 200+ pellet hit counts within th magical 10" circle. Congrats on the very nice pattern!! It should definitely do a number on a gobbler!

My turkey hunting buddy has an Indian Creek .665 and shoots the bronze Hevi-13's out of a Browning Gold and let me say that it throws one heck of a pattern. Almost Nitro like.
