Haha call me unethical I guess but I will be out there with an old westernfield 12gaugeshotgun w/ modified barrell and whatever shells(probably winchester)I can pick up from wal-mart a couple days before season or whatever they got leftand will have no worries!
Gd Luck guys!!

Dude you ruined it for me... I thought for sure you were a serious turkey hunter

Nope not serious just something to pass the time and get out there in the woods when the trout fishing is slow!!;)

With that attitude, why even bother turkey hunting? I've never heard of a not so serious turkey hunter. Either you love it or you don't. Obviously you don't, or you would take the time and get the best possible shells and equipment. Do us a favor and start fishing now, and stay out of the woods this Spring.

Haha.... I didnt know I had to EAT, SLEEP, BREATHE everything I do?? Im sorry Super didnt know that was the case!! Im fairly new to the whole turkey hunting thing, I DO enjoy it, IT IS a hell of a good time!!!!

Is this so... so if you were going to take up golfing, bowling, bowhunting, hell anything for the matter, does this mean you are going to go out and buy all the most expensive equipment to go????? Seriously...and if you say that you do then you have more money then brains my friend!

I just never knew it was so bad not to LOVE everything I do, Thank You Superstrutter for clearing that up for me!

I never said you must have the most expensive things, but in yourcase you are willing to use whatever the hell you can find and go out the next day without ever knowing if and how it's going to work. You have no respect for the game you are hunting if that is your attitude. Go out the day before season and buy whatever they have, regardless of what it is, that's a joke. Obviously I have more brains than you. I don't know about the money, and I could care less. What I do know is, I have much more respect for the Wild Turkey than you. No, you don't have to love something to enjoy doing it, but if you so so like it, why bother doing it. Find something else you like to do better. I don't hunt deer, ducks , and turkeys to pass the time away because I'm waiting for something else. I'm doing it instead of something else, because it is a passion.

~~ Never had a problem before?? Its a shotgun, I may not be able to put 200+ bb's in a 10'' circle at 40 yds or at 20yds for that matter but I think I know my limits with what I am equipped with!

What I do know is, I have much more respect for the Wild Turkey than you.
~~ Why is this?? Because you know you can take the risk of shooting out to 40+ yds, I have never done this nor do I intend to with the equipment I have?? Do I think my setup will kill at 40yds... YES!! Do I intend to do it, NO!! I dont think the Turkey will bewondering whether he has 10 or 50 pieces of shot in his head when he is laying on the ground;)!

No, you don't have to love something to enjoy doing it
~~Either you love it or you don't.......I believe thats what you said???

but if you so so like it, why bother doing it.
~~ I believe I cleared this up already

I'm doing it instead of something else, because it is a passion.
~~ Explain to me why I cant do both?? I am out there for the same reason you are, because I want to be, or as you say it is a passion!! I also have a PASSION for fishing as well;)...maybe a lil more but I choose to do both to satisfy my enjoyment for both!!

The best way to handle it;) Nothing really shocks me nowadays and with how some peoplethink. You tried and I tried it recently with another member on here and it'slike talking to brick wall.

I even post posted the discussion and his postI had with that other memberon here about patterning toan allturkey hunting forum.Well lets just say if I took a poll on the replies posted, thisso called turkey hunteronly had two out of about 20+ turkey hunters that "some what agreed" to his way ofthinking. The other 20+ all have some good names of what kind of person he is :D The real kicker is that you, myself and anyone else not standing by him and his way of thinking are the bad guys because we're not standing/sticking together as hunters.

Again, it doesn't shock me people don't take the time to do it right! It only saddens & scares me that I (and my son someday)have got to spendour passion in the same woods with them.

Good Luck & Hunt Safe

Exactly. I have a "friend" that wants so bad for me to take him turkey hunting. He's the type that will buy the cheapest ammo and doesn't believe that spending an hour at the range patterning your gun is worth it. He doesn't own a turkey call and doesn't care to learn either.

He also believes that turkey hunting consists of sitting down by a tree, calling two or three times and PRESTO, there's your turkey! But he wants me to waste my time and call a bird in for him that I've already spent hours patterning just so he can drop the hammer on him and say "he" killed a tom. People like this make me want to vomit.
