Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Has anyone tried?

They patterned poorly for me with an 870 SPS-T and a Jellyhead choke. The original Rem. Hevi shots pattern so much better, but they don't make them anymore. I have a couple of boxes left. After that, I'm probably going with the Rem. HD's. The hevi 13's may work well for your setup though. The only way to find out is to try them.

Each gun and choke combo is different. You just have to try them and see.

The green Hevi-shot shells are known as a bad patterning shell that was created a few years back. I, too, have patterned them in my Rem 870 SPS-T and the pattern was a joke and not even worth my time to count the holes in a ten inch circle. There is now a "newer" Hevi-shot Hevi-13 shell out that is bronze in color and is supposedly a much, much better shell. I have read over on the nwtf website that some of the guys are getting 200 or more pellet counts in a 10 inch circle with the bronze Hevi-13 3" #6 shotshell using a Indian Creek choke. The season is approaching too close for me to start trying different things now, but I think that during the summer months when there isn't any hunting going on, I am going to try and get me an Indian Creek choke and try the Hevi-13's out and see how it patterns for me. 200 pellets hits in a 10" circle is a pretty dense and tight pattern!!
