Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

What do you take to the woods with you?

Years ago when I first started turkey hunting I took only a mouth call, a shot gun and three shells. The system worked quite well; however, now what I carry looks like a section out of Cabela's Catalog loaded on an ATV. It is amazing how many more "Things" are required to harvest a turkey these days....

I know I carry way more than I need. Seems like I carry all this stuff in and I usually grab my "tried-and-true" calls that always get them gobbling. I do take too much...

Tom Kelly claims in Tenth Legion that he is the "best in the world" at spooking gobblers off the roost by deficating under thier roosting tree. I personally make sure that I bring the tp everytrip in the woods, because, like Tom Kelly I always have to go once I get a cup of coffee and a quarter mile of walking. So, TP is always in my vest.

In addition,

1.) pruners
2.) bug spray
3.) head net
4.) gloves
5.) shells/Arrow
6.) license
7.) pen
8.) crow call
9.) peacock call
10.) hawk screamer
11.) camp caller slate
12.) custom call glass
13.) personally made double glass call
14.) primos power crystal
15.) about 6 different strikers
16.) about 8 differnt mouth calls
17.) primos call care thingamabob- scrapes glass, slate, cleans striker tips, chalk.
18.) some old box call that was home-made, sounds great
19.) albuterol inhaler- asthmatic
20.) water bottle
21.) Cabela's Super Tatr Vest
22.) Gun/Bow
23.) Gate keys
24.) Blackberry- Yes, I even e-mailed my bishop while turkey hunting last year. It was great! He thought I was working[8D]

optional items:

Coffee thermos in the Jeep
Decoys, depending on the situation and plan
binoculars
blind- several kinds, again depending on the hunt
video camera- if I'm calling for someone else

Dead Turkey!!!!!!!
