Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Gun Shows Suck If You Are A Hunter!

I went to the Bill Goodman's Gun & Knife Show today at the Fairgrounds in Nashville,TN. They advertised all kinds of hunting guns and equipment would be there. I paid $6 to walk around and look at assault rifles and daggers with a bunch of redneck Uni-bomber wanna be's. It was a rip off for hunters. They had a few shotguns, but were priced high. They had arny camo pants for $25 a pair. We went to Bass Pro Shop afterwards and they had MO BU camo shirts and pants for $14.88 each. It will be the last time a gun show gets my money! BPS is more expensive than Walmart, but they do have good stuff that Walmart doesn'y carry. Like MO BU NWTF turkey vests! Good calls! Good decoys! And good guns at a reasonable price!

I bet "Bear Bryant" would have been a "Turkey Hunting Warrior!"

It must have to do with where you live as to what kind of guns you see at gunshows .I have seen some assault rifles here at the gunshows, but not that much ,most of it is sporting rifles . I'm not into assault rifles either .

Got a question, Just what makes a rifle an assault rifle, is it the looks or the wood? Why is a SKS considered an assault rifle and a model 7400 Rem a sporting rifle. Sometimes I think us hunters get carried away with the terminology of the anti's, lets becareful.

I stopped going to guns shows in my area years ago. I can only look at so many booths selling rebel flag knives and belt buckles. Seriously though, I seem to remember when I was a kid the shows were so much better. They always had unique guns and lots of items that catered to the sportsman. Honestly, I think most of these shows are losing a lot of quality vendors because of the heat gun shows have come under in recent years.

Brian you are exactly right my friend!!The legality's involved with the buying and selling of firearms is a giant pain in the a$$!!It very's where you live across the country but here in Calif, the background check and waiting periods are just part of the stuff we have to put up with!!!

The only reason I go to the gun show in Kansas City anymore is to buy reloading supplies. When buying primers and powders at the show, you save the hazardous shipping fee that they tack on if you mail order. My experience has been that guns and such are way overpriced. But I'm sure there are a few bargains to be had for the intrepid shopper at all gunshows if you are willing to look hard enough and bargain with the sellers.

Gun shows here in Arkansas are hit or miss. Sometimes, there's good ones, sometimes there's not. A bunch of the good vendors have quit going to gun shows because of all of the flack they get from the libbys and govt. It's left a bunch of other boothes like, knives and clothes to fill their spots. You're gonna keep seeing, more and more junk, and less and less quality firearms sells at gun shows.

I'm in Arkansas though...I think geographical location probably does have an affect on the types of gun shows you have.

Louisville, KY has a real good gun show about three times a year. There are always a lot of individuals walking around with guns to sell. You just have to be careful, and know what you are buying.
