Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

I truly go by the rule of first come, first serve. If there is somebody already there I go elsewhere. I assume others will do the same for me when I'm there first.

Respect goes a long way. As far as I'm concerned every turkey hunter that plans to hunt, should have at the lease 1 other back up place. If you can get permission on one place you can on another aswell or find a track of public.

As we speek , down the road about 5-6 miles there has been a group of 40 birds hanging in a cut corn field all this winter , everyone that I know has seen and talk about them, yesterday I slipped in to see the farmer about the birds, and he told me that he did not own the land but knew the Register land owner and that he lived in a close town. Well a 10 minute drive to town and another 100 acre woods with turkeys to hunt. While everyone is talking about seeing them ,, I'm asking permission!...BT

I agree with BossTom. Besides the tips he gave, the birds on that one property might be shut down for some reason or another and a back up spot is in order.

In your situation 10 point, you were there, setup so the other guy had the opportunity to converse with you and he didn't. I say you did the right thing and you were successful because of it. Like you said, had the other person been respectful and talked with you, you might have teamed up on a double.

10 pt.This is a real sore spot with me.Even though I have access to 10's of thousands of acres to hunt I'd always pick a few small areas to concentrate my scoutin.Nothin is more frustratin than to put in hours of scoutin and then on openin mornin have someone else walk into your setup.Yrs ago I would always be the one to leave but after this happenin more times than I can count,I now confront that person. If they can't show me any respect then they get none in return.I understand guys can come in by mistake and when this happens i usually offer them to join me but it's the guys who know i'm in that spot and come on in anyways that really burns my butt.Sorry guys, didn't mean to get carried away but i've lost many a good huntin spots to these SPORTSMEN.

REAL sore spot with me also, simply because not only do I put alot of time an effort into my scouting but in many cases $$$$ also!A true lesson is learned here fellas. As I also learned the hardway here too!Once permission is granted you have to find out if any other individuals have permission also and in my past experiences this can resolve the situation before it becomes a confrontation in the turkey woods!A phone call can stop this frusterating experience and also develop a good hunting relationship that turns beneficial instead of ugly!If you dont establish some kind of communication with those other individuals that have permission it can become a real strain on the landowner and result in a lost hunting opportunity!Nip it in the bud and take care of it beforehand!!Jalvja those doods that dont have permission are a whole nother story, not only do they get told there poachers, but they also have to figure out how to get my boot out of there a$$!!!!

This stuff drives me crazy. I only have 3 places to hunt on private land in Tn. The best one of these and the largest one, another fellow from Ohio has permisssion also. I always try to plan my trips around when he's here. It's an hour drive for me and one morning my wife and I were getting out of the truck and getting the 4 wheeler unloaded when he pulls up. He wasn't supposed to be here until a couple of days later. I said I was sorry, I didn't know he would be there. I asked if it would be alright if he would just pick a place, front or back of the 200 acres and i'd hunt the other. He said no, I hunt the whole thing. Rather than get into a dispute my wife and I loaded up and went to another farm we could hunt and still managed to get a bird that morning. I hate we have people in our ranks like that.
