I have been hunting turks for five and have taken four longbeards.
Paintbrush,I often tell people that the only thing that I don't like about turkey hunting is that I didn't start hunting them alot sooner than I did.

I started going out and scouting for turkeys in Oregon in the late 1980's-early 1990's. It took me two or three years to finally see one but I had a great time looking. Back then you had to apply for a tag, but I think that everyone that applied got one. I only went out for a day or two for the first couple of years, but I got hooked and now spend at least a week hunting every year. The closest place that I hunt is about a 2 hour drive.I have harvested four toms in the last six springs, I have not tried fall hunting yet.
