Its funny how some hunters tend to see bearded hens off and on and others don't. Guess it may have something to do with the area and genetics in the birds in that area.

Last week I filmed two bearded hens in the same property and believe this one in this pic is one of the ones I filmed. The other had a much thicker beard and a little longer.

Snow levels this winter has made it hard for the birds to feed as corn stubble is 3 feet under the snow, so the birds have wondered into the yard to feed at the bird feeder.

I thought everyone would enjoy a pic for a change, Hope you all had a great fall season. Mine seemed to end as fast as it started after busting up an elbow on the first morning of the Pa season saving my video camera from hitting rocks.

Hope everyone has a Very Merry Holiday Season and Play safe...

ORIGINAL: Champlain Islander

I try to not kill lesbian turkeys here in Vt. They do have lots of muscular dark breast meat since they have superior upper body strength.

There are lots of lesbian turkeys in all of new england that ive seen

In Iowa you could have shot it in spring, or fall. I also raise Eastern Turkeys, and once in awhile we get an old bearded hen.
