black powder rifle turkey

RE: black powder rifle turkey
I can't imagine using a black powder rifle to take a turkey rather than a black powder shotgun, but with a bow you'd aim for the wingbutt on a side view, where the beard attaches to the chest on a frontal shot and right where the feathers come together in the rear when at full strut so I'd say the same for your rifle. Of course if you think your that good, hit it in the head. But like I said, I'd choose a black powder shotgun over a rifle but to each his own.

RE: black powder rifle turkey
I was just curious. Since my shotgun isn't patterning worth a flop I was looking over my other options. I don't have a muzzleloader, but I could get on at walmart for 70 bucks. I used to use one all the time for deer but I traded it for a recurve after I wore the rifling down in the barrel. I don't really want to use a bow.
I thought about buying a new shotgun just for turkey. About how much does the NEF singleshot with the 3-1/2" cost?
