Default Which box call

I am wanting to buy a new box call this year, I have narrowed it down to two calls. Primos Heart Breaker and Lynch Fool Proof.
Last year I decided I wanted to buy a box call and I did a lot of research and I heard a lot of good things about the cannon country Litl' Hen, so I ordered it. Got it after about 8 weeks and 8 emails or so, had a chip in it (I know everything can't be perfect). When I recieved it, it didn't even sound like a turkey to me, don't know, maybe it's just me. Well I don't want to make another mistake, plz lead me in the right direction . Thx in advance.

Bud, as you must know I'm a Quakerboy person, Chuck, on here is a Knight and Hale fellow so we can only give you info on these lines. We would both like to help you but thats products we know.
I hate to see a guy get took on something , so maybe we can help you a little here. If your box has a screw at the front of the paddle , try the adjust it a little. Tighten it and try the call for sound, losen it and try it. Make sure the Box is chalked on the paddle and if not rub the paddle lightly with 180 sand paper and chalk only down the middle of the paddle , do not rub sand paper hard on the box edges just very light to remove any matter. Watch that you do not change the angle. This box may have never been tuned, try the screw trick to see if it will change the sound/Pitch...BT

I like them with Long Sharp Spurs....

can't go wrong with the Lynch, I own one and love it. for some reason it seems even easier to get the right tones out of it than some other calls that I own. Don't know if its the wood or what but I love it. Deffinitly a steal for the price. Get the Lynch

I've got a Lynch "Fool-Proof". It's a good call & has a good sound. I use it every year here & these Merriams love it !!

i was teaching my friend to use his box call..he brings me over a lynch fool proof..i am a decint caller and been calling for 5 years now...i couldnt make that thing sound like a turkey...it wasnt my call so i didnt play with the screw..i did sand it and chalk it..it was pretty bad...way to high pitched for me...sounded like crap when it did come close to a turkey sound....i never tried the primos...i really dont touch production box calls..mine was handmade..i cant remember the wood i think its cedar...it has a great sound and never gave me problems and it cost me a whole 20 bucks!...i think when buying box calls its worht hte extra money to get something that really sings instead of something that will barely make a turkey sound..i am lucky i have a shop out the road that lets me play with any call i want and they sell alot of hand made stuff that really sings...i would rather have something like that any day box call wise...just my 2 cents....
