Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

State of Texas requires you use a centerfire only.

You can use rifle in fall as well for Rio just not eastern.

I have heard of people who have used a 223 to head shoot them no breast meat wasted.

I raise turkeys. We had a sick one, so I shot it in the neck with my .17 HMR, CCI 20 gr. bullet. DROPED IT!!!

Well I ended up shooting one with my 7mm Rem Mag this weekend.

I accidently busted a flock off their roost walking out to my blind right before daylight and they scattered everywhere and several ended up flying off in front of me a few more times. As it started getting light there were turkeys calling to each other from every nook and cranny. I saw a couple groups of 4 as close as 85 yards but was waiting to see if anything else was around and then a single turkey comes walking right by at 43 yards and proceeded to stop right in front of me and stick it's neck out and I couldn't resist. I popped it about 2" above the base of it's neck and it went down on the spot and didn't waste any meat. We ended up eating wild turkey for Christmas dinner!

I raise turkeys, when one is sick, I shoot it. I tried my .17 HMR on it. If you shoot it in the neck it does some pretty good damage.
