you're doing something right if you're seeing them....
Are they just not coming into range or what ? you could always do the belly crawl to get closer....you might try being aggressive too, but i would think that would be better in the spring rather than in the fall....or better yet, be submissive, just cluck and purr, scratching of the leaves to mimic feeding.....i dont know what you have done , so i'm just guessing....

Camo head to toe, cover your silouette well and DON'T MOVE a muscle. Get your gun up WAAAAAY in advance and call no more than what he wants to hear. Don't force it. If you can't close the deal, just shut down until he's gone and hunt him another day. If you bump him, you just educated him.

Good luckl!

If you can see the flock anyway to really sneak up and bust the flock up. I mean ya scream - run at em - holler - wave your arms - what you want to do is make em fly all directions. Then sit yer butt down an in about 10 to 15 mintues start with Kee-Kee_Run calls and Lost hen calls to try to assemble the flock back togther. They are a family group. Talkes patience but does work.

or

Pattern them - they must have a consistent route to which they feed. A consistent fieild they must use. Get ahead of them and wait and ambush. Blinds work well for that.

I don't get agressive in fall at all - but do cluck and soft yelp and like Ma sed scratch leaves. You may want to look for the fresh leaf scratchin too! That tells ya they are using that area to feed.
