My dad uses a scope on his gun & loves it. I have shot it & it is nice. He has one of the Simmons Prodiamond models. They don't cost that much & would be a good deal to see if you like using a scope. Here are 2 models to check out.

I also use a Simmons Pro Diamond, mine is 2X. If your shooting a 10 gauge with those monster magnum shells, I wouldn't even try the variable that moonge meantioned, it doesn't have much eye relief. The fixed power model has plenty. Good luck.
