Thanks guys. As I said, Pa is talking about adding a $5 stamp in 2004 and people are not happy about it. I always thought we were one of the cheapest states to hunt in.

Kentucky license and permit fees:

Resident hunting license $15
Nonresident " " $115

Resident hunting/fishing combo $22.50
(not available to nonresidents)

Resident "Sportsman" license $80
(includes hunting/fishing combo, spring turkey, deer, waterfowl, and trout permits)
(not available to nonresidents)

Spring turkey permit (2 birds) $20
(both resident and nonresident)

Fall Archery turkey permit (2 birds) $15
(both resident and nonresident)

Fall Gun turkey permit (1 bird) $15

A handfull of our public areas require a user permit, $12.50-$20.00 depending on the specific area.

My apologies for straying off topic...
If you are a nonresident planning on hunting Ky's public land, try to contact the area manager about camping regulations. Some areas require a small "backcountry" camping fee, some have designated free camping areas, and some do not allow camping on the area period. Just trying to save someone the hassle of finding out too late. Also, a couple areas allow only archery/muzzleloading equipment; no modern firearms. One area is archery only.

For Nebraska we have an archery tag and a shotgun tag, both $20 this year. $13 Habitat stamp and $65 for nonresident. Each is for one tom or bearded hen.

Achery season starts 3 weeks before shotgun or March 25th and runs through May 19th. Most shotgun areas are broken in two seasons, early April 13-21 and late April 22-May 19th.
