License Fee Survey
I am curious what it costs in your state to Turkey hunt. Is it part of the general license, is there an additional stamp?? Pa is thinking of adding a turkey stamp ($5) and wanted to see how other states were set up.
In Pa, here is the breakdown: Resident General License (Ages 17-64) $20.00 This includes 1 Antlered Deer, 1 Spring Gobbler, & 1 Fall turkey (either Sex) along with Small game (rabbits, pheasant, grouse, etc.) |
RE: License Fee Survey
Here in Wisconsin it costs $3:00 to apply for a tag;$11:00 for a resident license;and I think it is $6.50 for a turkey stamp.

RE: License Fee Survey
Here in Calif as follows; Resident license,$29.95
non residentlicense,$104.50 plus you must have a upland gamebird stamp attached in it's proper place on your hunting license,$6.30 No tag system implemented here in Calif. This allows the perspective hunter to have the opportunity to harvest 3 gobblers in the spring with a visible beard and one fall bird either sex. |
RE: License Fee Survey
Minnesota has a 3.00 dollar application fee, license is $18.00 for residents and $73.00 for nonresidents. It's good for 1 bearded bird for the spring season. You also need a $5.00 turkey stamp.Totals up to $26.00 for residents, and $81.00 for nonresidents.

RE: License Fee Survey
Here in Ohio, It's 16 bucks for a small game license (must have this license to buy tags) plus 20 bucks for a spring turkey tag, plus 20 more for a fall turkey tag, plus another 20 for an either sex deer tag.( you can also buy an antlerless tag for some counties for another 20 bucks. Notice a trend here?

RE: License Fee Survey
In Maine the season big game is $19. This gives you one deer buck (or doe with permit), one bear (extra $5 permit if hunting outside of deer season), upland and small game ($15 pheasant stamp in lowest two counties), turkey if you are drawn for a tag ($5 application fee), moose if you are drawn for the lottery ($5 minimum application fee). Double all permit application fees for out of state hunters. Out of state license $85. All fees will be going up substantially next year.

RE: License Fee Survey
In Virginia, it's 12.50 for resident hunting licenses, 12.50 for big game tag, 3 deer, 3 turkey, 1 bear. National Forest stamp is $3 and some counties have a 1 to 5 dollar damage stamp.
In Tennessee we have a sportsman license that $101 and it covers everything, fishing and special draw hunts too. |
RE: License Fee Survey
In Hawaii a hunting license is $15 for res. and $100 for non-res, price incl. a $5 conservation stamp. Currently spring turkey tags are free with a valid license...just gotta go get'em. The '02-'03 season will see increases (and application fees for specific hunts such as Lanai Axis, Na Pali Trail feral goat, and a few others)

RE: License Fee Survey
Thanks guys. As I said, Pa is talking about adding a $5 stamp in 2004 and people are not happy about it. I always thought we were one of the cheapest states to hunt in.

RE: License Fee Survey
Kentucky license and permit fees:
Resident hunting license $15 Nonresident " " $115 Resident hunting/fishing combo $22.50 (not available to nonresidents) Resident "Sportsman" license $80 (includes hunting/fishing combo, spring turkey, deer, waterfowl, and trout permits) (not available to nonresidents) Spring turkey permit (2 birds) $20 (both resident and nonresident) Fall Archery turkey permit (2 birds) $15 (both resident and nonresident) Fall Gun turkey permit (1 bird) $15 A handfull of our public areas require a user permit, $12.50-$20.00 depending on the specific area. My apologies for straying off topic... If you are a nonresident planning on hunting Ky's public land, try to contact the area manager about camping regulations. Some areas require a small "backcountry" camping fee, some have designated free camping areas, and some do not allow camping on the area period. Just trying to save someone the hassle of finding out too late. Also, a couple areas allow only archery/muzzleloading equipment; no modern firearms. One area is archery only. |
RE: License Fee Survey
For Nebraska we have an archery tag and a shotgun tag, both $20 this year. $13 Habitat stamp and $65 for nonresident. Each is for one tom or bearded hen.
Achery season starts 3 weeks before shotgun or March 25th and runs through May 19th. Most shotgun areas are broken in two seasons, early April 13-21 and late April 22-May 19th. Lefty Llewellyn |
