well i live in southern wisconsin and the weather channel calls for between 3-7 inches of snow for tonight and tommarow, along with 25 mph winds. My season starts tommarow but i most likely wont go out due to the weather. What i was wondering was if that amount of snow would have any effect on the local turkeys?? I might think they would have to feed in the fields more ofter but... thanks for any tips.

I think a lot of how snow and cold affects them will be determined by what stage of breeding there are at. We hunted in KS last week in the snow, actually while it was snowing. The turkeys weren't breeding yet, but the days before the cold and snow, they were really fired up and callable. But during the day of snow, they went silent and did no struting. The day after the storm, all was just about back to where they left off!

I have never had to hunt in the snow but it looks like I might this saturday when I take a buddy and his son out for youth season. Man it just doesn't feel like spring should feel.
