Just got in from my "Good Friday" hunt. About 8:00 a hen comes out and toward my nephew. The hen went into the area of my nephew and just then I saw a nice mature Tom come out from where the hen entered. He displayes a nice mature tail and just then I hear a BOOM My nephew (22 years old) killed his first turkey, a hen, with a 6 inch beard. We'll get the big boy the next time..I Hope.. He hadn't seen the Tom when he shot.

Congrats to you nephew! He probably doesn't care that it is a hen and not a big gobbler...I know I shot a hen for my first turkey in the fall and I could care less. I was very excited! Congrats again!
