going out for my first time ever tomorrow
For a solid two months now I've been practicing my calls, polishing my shooting, gatheringa full suitofcamo, etc.
I finally got a weekend off from work with no big projects for school so I got to come back home and I'm going out in the morning.
I'm kinda nervous but also so excited I could pee myself a little haha.

Relax .... I can understand your excitement but you don't want to shaking so bad you won't be able to pull the tigger or draw you bow back.
I wish good luck and be safe out there , don't forget your camera and take plently of pictures , we love to see pictures.

Just wanted to say "Good Luck and Safe Hunting!!!!" Remember, even if you don't score a bird, you still were blessed with the ability to go out and enjoy the journey!

well I came home empty handed but it's ok, I actually had a lot of fun just being out there by myself, having time to slow down and breathe and think, etc.
I had to cut the hunt short, too. Stupid band I'm in playin shows...

i do have a question though. i was mostly trying to use cuts on a box call for a locater but i also have a crow call. how exactly do i use that? i am under the impression that you just basically make a racket and listen, is that right?

Blow into your call three times like this ( CAW .... CAW CAW ) do that every five or ten minutes or if you them gobble back.
Once you heard them gobble , try to locate where the sound came from then go from there.
The crow call is a good locater call during the evening hours when your trying to find out where there roosting.
Good luck ... hope you get onethe next time you go out.
