At the NNY NWTF Banquet this past Saturday I won a Remington 870 Express 12 gauge, 3 1/2 with Team NWTF stamped on receiver. Up till now I was gonna use the bow only. Then I won the gun, then I won a drawing for some stuff that included a lazy leg to help hold the gun. I said 'wow, is this a sign from the Turkey gods? Am I suppose to use this gun in my pursuit of the wild turkey this Spring?'

It is a great feeling to finally win one at the banquet, but such a dilemna!!!

Congrats on winning the gun and the other stuff , it might be a sign but try the bow for the first couple of days .
If you feel you'll do better with the gun then go for it , but the bow is alot more of a challenage.

Congrats on winning a gun. Im still a virgin when it comes to those banquets. However i won a nice turkey vest which im sad to sayill have to try it out i also won 4 inflatable turkey decoys which i sold because i have enough already and they looked bad. so I take it that you didnt have a gun previous to the banquet? If not then yes i would say this is a sign

Had an 835 but shot both birds this fall with a bow. Was going to try this Spring, but hey, when you win a new gun, something just tells you it was for a reason! [8D]

im with Rdhunter, use the bow for a couple days and if you have no luck pull out the gun........ The very first NWTF banquet I went to i won a 20 gauge, and it was the only drawing I took a chance at. Then the next year spent well over 100$ and didn't win squat.
