We saw three hens today on one of the pieces of land we hunt on. Looks like a great spot when the season comes in - hardwoods and pine trees.

Sounds good, lol i've been scouting lately but since the snow is still on the ground the birds aren't around right now b/c it just started to get warmer. But, i wont give up and I still got over a month to find them up here.

Went for a drive this evening and saw massive amounts of birds around. Even saw a few strutting already. Can't wait! One more month.

thesleepergt,
The birds by me are quite large and I'm in upstate (near watertown). Where are you hunting that they are so small upstate?

Headed out tomorrow. I may have to get my boy to school first, but then it's me and the woods. Maybe I can change my luck.

Hey guys. Looks like I got put in on your team as an alternate. I'm heading to the farm in KS. for the early archery season that starts Apr. 1st. I'll be back there for 7 days, and trying to get some kills on film. I've got my two tags bought, my bow sighted in, my buddy doing the scouting already, and I'm ready to go.
If all doesn't go so well, I'll be going back again about a month later with the shotgun.
Good luck everyone!

I only got one with my bow last year, BUT he had three beards and spurs about 1.25".
