My girl has a single shot 20guage. It chambers a 2 3/4in. and has a full choke barrel and no threads for a choke tube. Shootin 20ga. turkey loads from the company that patterns the best, at what yardage do yall suggest and is this a decent enought gun to dust a longbeard? Any thoughts welcome, Thanks yall.

DH, over the years of turkey hunting (16) with Win mod.12/20ga Mod. and (32) withBRN A-5/12ga Mod and in 1999 I switched to Moss. 835 12ga/ Turkey Full.I have never taken one over 40yds.
I like to call them in as close as I can. That's just me!

The old standard for a killing pattern was at least 3 pellets in the spine/brain. This was before screw-in chokes and special turkey loads. Get a few turkey head targets.Move back and shoot at 5 yard incrementsuntil you aren't getting that kind of pattern. Witha good tight choke and the right shot, you should be able to get to 35 yd. with 20 ga.

The gun you have is prob not going to pattern very well... I doubt it will pattern past 20 yards with the best turkey loads... But make sure you pattern it like said wingbone said
