winchester 1300 question
#2
I shoot a Winchester 1300 and shoot great patterns. I shoot a Trueglo Triple Extra Full Turkey choke with Wichester 3" High Velocity 6 shot shells. I typically put about 80-100 pellets in the head and neck of a bird at 25 yards. Also have taken a bird as far as 50+ yards (although I wouldn't recommend it unless you have patterned you gun well and the bird just won't come in)

After trying out a few chokes and many turkey loads over the years, Iended up going withthe Rhino choke andNitro 3" H378 shells. This consists of a triplex loading of 1 7/8oz of 4X5X7 plated hevishot. Awesome combo and patterns!!! Here's an actual pattern pic fromfour seasons ago, showing 316 pellets inside a 10" circle ata paced off 40 yards.

I use the standard factory full choke that came with my 1300. It patterns ok with the loads I've tried out to around 35yds. Remington nitro loads, Fed. 3" turkey loads, Fed. flite control lead 4's and 6's, Win. 3" turkey loads and a couple others. Fed. flite control lead 6's put 90+ in a ten inch circle at 40 yds. I don't expect to do better than that without a specialty choke, but I'm not that worried about long distance capability.

I own a 1300 my suggestion is dont buy the Under taker choke I get a great tight pattern but for some reason it shoots low & left 6 to 8 inches.
Tried 3 different loads same results. I thought it was justmy shooting thenIhad 2 friends shoot it same thing. Its not the gun it will shoot straight with the chokes that came with the gun but I dont get a good pattern.
