Take her out scouting with you and don't bring a gun. Let her try a call or two out and when that gobbler sounds off due to the call that you (or your girlfriend) made, she will get hooked...That's the best sound in the woods! If you do this, do not over call or you can ruin the begining of your turkey season!

the important thing is NOT to force it on her in any way shape or form. could ruin her. introducing her to the outdoors by fishing is a good step. take her for walks/scouting etc. show her game sign..let her pick up turkey feathers etc..take her out one morning when the birds are hot and let her listen to the spring woods awaken. take her shooting a 22 or a small caliber gun that wont knock the snot out of her. but dont force or make her go hunting. when shes ready she will ask to go with you...or ask her to go with you. when shes ready to kill something she will tell you. my girlfriend was never around anyone that lives my lifestyle. i hunt, fish and scout more than anyone i know or have ever personally met. i shoot as often as possible. when i was in highschool it was ATLEAST once a week but often times more than that. so her meeting me was life changing to say the least lol. i take her fishing occassionally...i just dont have the time to invest right now to get her into hunting and guns etc..right now shes still a flatlander and doesnt like getting cold, wet, muddy etc and doesnt like the bugs, brush etc..so it would take me a while just to get her used to all that..and then i gotta introduce guns and saftey etc..just too much time with us both in college..but she wants to..she cant wait for fishing season..and wants to go hunting...so i got mine ready...took me 3 years but she wants to go..

just be patient and let her tell you she WANTS to go...no sense in rushing it or being too persistent..she may get turned off and never want to go. good luck...

Give it up I would say. I think probably most of us old timers have gone through that phase trying to get the wife (former gf) interested enough to accompany us hunting. Most of the guys I know have the same response, she goes once or a couple times and that is that. And then you have to listen to all the reasons why you shouldn't be gone so much having fun while she is home raising the kids. But don't worry, when you get to be around 50-60 or so and the kids are finally gone, they don't get so pissy when you want to go hunting.....

I would just get her around the sport as much as you can with out pushing it on her. If you can get her together with any other girls that hunt it helps. But be careful whatyou ask for. If she starts hunting your cost just doubled. If your going to alaska she wants to go. out of state hunts with the buddies- good luck she going to want to go. It's nice but can get pricey when booking your dream hunts "FOR TWO"

I would not push it. Make sure you have a open invite for her to go along but don't pressure her.

Maybe a scouting trip before season where you can even try and call some birds. Pick a nice day to roost or set up a sunrise set-up.

I feel turkey hunting is one of the very best ways to start someone hunting.

My wife started several years after we were married and I started her with a all womens hunt that she enjoyed very much.

Good luck and have fun.
