Well .. at least your in the right forum now ( seenyour other one in the bowhunting forum ) you should try looking thru all the page's of this forum.
You'll get the information your looking for by doing this , like on the last page # 6 there's a post about field dressing your bird.
If you want to know about decoys , calling , and scouting it's all in here just click and read , everybody in this forum has got it all coverd.

I suggest getting the Primos turkey hunting dvd, and some mouth and slate calls. I did this, and it really helps to explain all the calls, and how to bring em in.

I would get your hands on as many turkey videos and books as possible. go to Cabelas or Bass Pro or Gander Mountain....they always have their calls out on display to try. Try out the different calls and see what kind works best for you. From there, I would start scouting about a month before. Find out 1) where the birds roost 2) where they fly down 3) where they feed and 4) where the toms like to strut.
I would recommend H.S Cut'n Strutt'n 11. This is a kick a$$ video with awesome hunts and I think someone could learn a thing or two from it.

RD, you said there is a post on field dressing your bird on page 6. I can't find it. Does anyone know where the post is?

practice, practice and more practice. If your married you should be driving your wife crazy with your practice. If you are going to use a mouth call, practice all the way to work. Hook up with someone who is a seasoned vet and watch and learn. Get out in the woods and hunt. sunrise to whenever your hunting hours end. Nothing will take the place of experience. Try getting a few DVD's but go more for the instructional ones than the kill ones. Primos and HS Strut are usually good ones for instruction, as are Drury Bros.
