Be in the right spot at the right time. Carry you're turkey choke and a 3" shell while hunting other birds. Spooking a flock of turkeys got me stoked to try turkey hunting in the fall, didn't get any, but got my first bird in the spring!

You asked for three things: for me they would be # 1Location ( Roosting Tree ), # 2 Food, # 3 Calling.
I combine my fall turkey hunting with my archery deer season and I have good results doing this.
Using my Double Bull blind and having acouple of hen decoy's outhelp with the deer becuase they ( the deer ) aremore at ease when they see turkeys or my decoy.
Its like killing two (birds )with one stone, pardon the pun.
