I use as many calls as I need, to find one that he likes.
2days ago I had 3 gobblers gobblin thier heads off to a crow call.
That is all they would answer.
But mostof the time, the shock owl call does the best.
But so far this year that hasn't been true. I tried to roost the same gobblers this evening using the owl call and they didn'tmake a peep.
At least, if you have several of these calls, you can try them.
Owl,crow, woodpecker, coyote howler. I've even heard of a hawk and apeacockcall.
Maybe you'll have one he likes.
If you don't have them to try,you will never know...

at first like the owl call for me, after daylight i switch to the crow call, for my area these two work the best, i've had turkeys gobble to the crow call and not open there mouth to a turkey call, they've probably got educated and are call shy, don't hunt without your locator calls. good luck.

What I have noticed is that the pitch in a crow call can be the difference in night or day for a gobble. I have had one not work and to turn around and use another with a different pitch and it works fine. I carry 3 different ones with me 2 from name brand companies and 1 in my voice box

Locators are the same as turkey calls themselves. The air presure can change the pitch of calls on anyone day and what worked yesterday may not work today. Having a free range of calls can and will make the difference between roosting and roasting...BT
