Day 9, Fat Dogs can bite! One down.
#1
It's day 9 here in Ga. and I can honestly say, it has been the hardest 9 days of turkey hunting for me.
It's not the bird I was after, I moved, but I GOT ONE THIS MORNING, at 7:45.
Here's the measurements and I'll have to figure it out later and post them. Also have some photos' I'm going to ask JW to post for me. If anybody wants to fiqure out the score for me that would be fine.
21 lbs
10 3/4 in. beard
Left spur: 3/4 in.
Right spur: 7/8 in.
I'm editing this because I forgot to tell something interesting about taking this bird. I've been having a tough time with a case of bronchitis this week. Just before I took this bird I had to cough, just couldn't hold it any longer. I coughed and he gobbled, couldn't have been much past 50 or 60 yds, I couldn't see him, you might know, I went in in the dark and stoped in the thickest place. I fiqured he was gone, but I soft clucked and he came in, saw my coys and stoped at about 30 yds or less.
Thanks,
dog1

Well even though did not have a chance to agree....Now go after Mr. Whoopbutt! hehe
Folks I met dog1 on this forum as we sorta got on the same turkey team. He needed some internet help and I offered and from there we developed an unseen friendship. Well as luck would have it we were on the same team last year and the friendship grew.......but this year we are on oppostie teams as luck would have it but I still wish Dog best of luck though i tease a bit.......oh and we have taken it one step farther.....I ahve called him on the phone almost every day.....as i wanted to know! Soon my hunt will start and then I'll post like dog did....
Yes that dog can bite.......good to see it ain't all bark!
Here are Dog1's pictures
he don't look fat at all...might rabid maybe
That is one heck of a Rope!!

Now save those wings and drumsticks......you ain't got one of my drumstick calls yet and they do make very nice striekers on a pot or slate!
Again - disregard my comments Dog - i expect pay back!

Way to hang in there! I think we all worry about a cough too much on certain species, being they can't "speak the language" they don't know what that cough means.
Congratulations. Good job..
