the second pattern is the best ut neither are all that well and hwat brand was it .

I have been practicing head shots today and got 4 out of 8 arrows in the kill sone but the others would have done the job witha broadhead on the end of it instead of a feild point but i am gonna take the base of the neck as my target as that is the most prone spot on the turkey

I have a tru glo choke on my gun. I think I am going to try something else like an undertaker or something. I like the way th federals patterned but I think I could do better with A different shot size. At 20 yards all of the shells were blowing its head off. I don't know why a 10 yard move could make a 6 inch drop in the shot placement. Any help you guys got is very welcome. I just dont know if its me or the choke.

Yeah, salt, I think you are right. It's certainly gonna be tough but mostly because season opens so late. MO DNR says that 80% of the breeding occurs the first 2 weeks of April. That's why the youth hunt is in there but regular season is later. I have said for years season opens too late, and this year is a week later than normal. They've been gobblin and struttin around here for a couple of weeks. The next 3 weeks are when things will really start to happen. It's gonna be a game of patience this year. I don't think calling one in will be the way to go. It's gonna take woodsmanship and a big ole healthy dose of patience. I for one will pretty much be sitting in one or 2 spots all day.

LOL....agreed. The theory is to give the hens a peaceful afternoon without us dumb hunters tromping around all over the nests.
